Keith and District Hospital/Stirling Lodge (Community Hospital & Aged Care) has had a long history of fighting to remain open. Continually negotiating with the government to acquire funds and prove our worth. We never know our long-term future which is so hard for our organisation to strive forward. We are currently in negotiation for a 5-year deal, funds being drip fed.
For the first time in many years we feel that with Sue at the helm we have a bright future with strong leadership. The workload as CEO/DON in a rural community hospital is enormous at the best of times. She handles the many pressures of 2020 and continues to be a strong, inspiring leader, and support to all within the organisation.
Sue works so hard including many extra volunteer hours, so KDH is a viable prospect for the long-term future of our Hospital and Aged Care.
Sue Jones as our CEO/DON had left the organisation due to personal reasons but agreed to return following a desperate need of leadership/expertise 10 months later.
Sue is dedicated, respected and supported by staff, volunteers, consumers and their families. Commuting 200 km from her hometown of Mt Gambier every week is dedication. Dedication and inspiration need to be rewarded.
