Shirley Hurley is Inasmuch Community beloved Residential Facilities Manager who is responsible for admissions, consumer engagement and managing Kitchen, Cleaning and Activities staff, ensuring the daily wellbeing of our residents. We nominate Shirley as our “Aged Care All Star” for her accomplishments in connecting and engaging our aged care community.
With her strong connection to the Sussex Inlet community (through managing the local footy team, her previous trade as hairdresser, and helping her husband with his local business), Shirley connects our residents to community by working with volunteers who come in to cook, garden, craft or otherwise engage with our residents.
Her compassion knows no bounds, as evidenced by her dedication in helping multiple residents (who found themselves homeless) with admission to our residential aged care, including sourcing clothes and bedroom décor to make their room feel cosy. Knowing the value of feeling at home, she also organises volunteers to crochet blankets to give to residents as a personal touch for their room.
Shirley has organised countless functions and events for Inasmuch Staff, Residents and Volunteers with aplomb. She encompasses the Inasmuch Community value of being part of the Sussex Inlet community – she is an inspiration to us all.
