Heather Cook

Skye Harvey Community Connections – Individual

Organisation:

Alzheimers WA

I nominate Support Worker Heather Cook for her initiative to connect Support Workers at Alzheimer’s WA in the North East Region; Heather has provided the opportunity for our team to share stories, build relationship and support each other.
Our Connect Club foundation is based on two of our core values at AWA – Empathy – to value our relationships, treat people with kindness and look after each other. Respect – to treat people with respect, dignity and recognise individuality.
Our emblem – The Sunflower – Sunflowers follow the sunshine and like us, always look on the bright side! Sunflowers are multi-purpose and like us, always make the plan work! Sunflowers symbolize loyalty and are well known for being a Happy Flower – totally like us!
Teamwork has always been an integral part of our work philosophy. Together Everyone Achieves More. This success is achieved through ongoing team communication and conversation, which we consider to be vital glue. The more we talk and support each other, the more we will all “stick” together!
Our Connect Club members get together over informal coffee mornings, for a cuppa or two.
