Debbie has been an integral part of our Mayflower Brighton team for close to 16 years, first starting as a PCA, and later as a Lifestyle Assistant.
During the pandemic, Debbie made beanies to help brighten our teams’ spirit and countless throws and cushions for new residents.
“I just wanted to do something for other staff, who might have felt a bit down with the cold weather and social isolation,” says Debbie, “I thought making some beanies would be a great way to give them a boost!”
Debbie’s stunning hand-made throws and cushions are each designed to help ease one of life’s biggest transitions – the move into an aged care home.
“Moving into a new home can be really hard for some of our residents. I wanted to make something to help bring some comfort, and hopefully help them feel more at home,” says Debbie.
Debbie generously makes the cushions and beanies at home, donating her time and yarn to make the gorgeous designs.
Our care and lifestyle teams know Debbie as a generous and caring person who will go above and beyond for residents. Nothing is too hard, and no task too big – Debbie will get it done.
