Chris is a retired art teacher who has been enthusiastically volunteering at Northaven for over 10 years. He has run art classes (which were unfortunately on hold during the pandemic) and established a large display board where he often featured a resident artist. Chris has endless amounts of patience and an ability to get the residents engaged in the art. Chris genuinely cares about each resident and follows their progress each week. In his classes, he predominantly uses layering techniques to get the residents to create amazing artworks that they and their families are proud of. He also creates his own brushes, stamps and rollers to accommodate the limited fine motor skills some of the residents have. Chris organizes each resident’s artwork into folders for their families to keep. Chris’ dedication and creativity is an asset to Uniting.
