The NSW Retirement Village Reforms – 1 July 2019


The webinar will cover the  key changes, which commenced on 1 July 2019:

  • annual contract ‘check-ups’ meeting – to give residents clarity about their financial position
  • emergency plans, annual evacuation exercises and key safety information
  • appointment of auditors – to be approved by residents
  • rules of conduct for operators of retirement villages
  • free on-site mediation – to help with the timely resolution of issues


Presented by:

Phyllis Meadows previous experience includes working in community services, social and government housing and providing support to the highly disadvantage.  Her current role as a Senior Customer Service Officer  with NSW Fair Trading has provided her with extensive experience managing retirement village complaints and compliance. Phyllis regularly presents information seminars to retirement village residents, operators and potential residents

Paul King has extensive experience in Strata dispute resolution, he has managed high performing complaint teams and is a highly skilled mediator in our Mediation Team. Paul specialises in Strata Schemes, Residential Land Lease Communities and Retirement Villages
