The National Cabinet has brought forward roll-out of the COVID-19 vaccine to February 2021, with aged care staff and residents being priorities for early access. The implementation of the roll-out sits with the Commonwealth working in conjunction with State/Territory Governments .

This essential webinar will assist ACSA members understand key aspects of the vaccine roll-out program for aged care residents and staff.

Facilitated by ACSA CEO Patricia Sparrow, you will hear from an Australian Government Department of Health representative outlining the whole of Government’s objectives with the program, an Australian Medical Association representative discussing the medical implications and lawyer Libby Pallot considering some of the more complex employment legal matters for employers of aged care staff.

Dr Chris Moy, Board Director, Australian Medical Association

Dr Chris Moy

Dr Moy is a full-time general practitioner working at large group practice in Parkside, SA. He is the President of the Australian Medical Association (AMA) in South Australia, as well as Chair of the Federal AMA Ethics and Medico-legal Committee. He graduated from the University of Adelaide in 1991 and he has worked in general practice for some 25 years. His interests include aged care, palliative care, and health IT and communication systems. He was a former member of the Independent Advisory Committee to the Minister of Health regarding the Patient Controlled Electronic Health Record (PCEHR) and the My Health Record Operations Management Committee. He is currently a Clinical Reference Lead for the Australian Digital Health Agency and a member of its Privacy and Security Advisory Committee.

Libby Pallot, Principal, Russell Kennedy

Libby is the head of Russell Kennedy’s Workplace Relations, Employment and Safety practice and a partner of the firm. She has worked at Russell Kennedy for over 20 years. Libby is an experienced practitioner in the area of employment law and industrial relations. Her employment law experience is vast and she concentrates on providing advice concerning performance and disciplinary actions and all matters involving the workplace including contractors, human resources policies and manuals. Libby regularly presents as an expert on employment law and industrial relations to numerous sectors. She was recognised by Best Lawyers 2014 – 2021 for expertise in Employee Benefits Law and Occupational Health and Safety Law.
